SparQ Studios Membership
SparQ Studios is a makerspace and design studio that provides a wide range of tools, machinery, knowledge, and expertise so that you can bring your idea into a physical form.
With support from the Dunin-Deshpande Queen's Innovation Centre (DDQIC), SparQ Studios was founded in 2013 by four students in DDQIC'sstartup incubator who needed modern maker tools to build their product ideas. SparQ's first home was a small study room in Beamish MunroHall and it was one of Canada's first on-campus makerspaces. Today, SparQ Studios is located in its own facility on the ground floor of MitchellHall.
SparQ Studios is open to anyone in the Queen's and Kingston communities who wants to familiarize themselves with modern making equipment, learn new skills, and complete their own creative projects. Purchasing a membership allows you access to the makerspace and all of the equipment available. Membership is open to Queen’s students and the general public, and is now available for the 2023-2024 academic year.
A Note on Saftey: Members must be safety trained before being permitted to work in the space. Upon completing a membership registration, you will receive a link to a safety training presentation and quiz which must be completed before accessing the Makerspace. Members must also complete machine-specific training before using certain machines. This training is provided in-person with the assistance of the Makerspace Director or Supervisors.
For SparQ Studios address, directions and operating hours, please see "Venue: SparQ Studios Makerspace" below the membership options.

Monthly membership is the shortest term membership and we recommend this membership for people who are undertaking short projects. It takes 1-2 weeks to complete safety training and machine-specific training for any membership.
